Department Information

Department of Medicine Sahiwal Medical College Sahiwal/Sahiwal Teaching Hospital Sahiwal has a long history of services to the population of Sahiwal and adjacent areas. Department of Medicine is one of large clinical units of Sahiwal Teaching Hospital Sahiwal and consist of 2 Units each having 48 beds which are further divided in Male and Female wards. Medical Unit 1 is headed by Professor Dr. Imran Hassan Khan while Unit 2 is headed by Associate Professor Dr. Khalil Ahmad Khan. Since establishment, the Department of Medicine has forged vital partnerships to advance research, patient care and medical education at Sahiwal Teaching Hospital.

The Department of Medicine considers medical education to be a top priority and undergraduate and postgraduate medical student teaching sessions is regular activity .The department is acceded for house job, training, FCPS Medicine from College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan ,MD Internal Medicine from the University of Health Sciences, Lahore. CME academic activities including power point presentation, case presentation, journal club, clinical slide session and assessment of House officers and Post Graduate Trainee are carried out regularly with strong emphasis on bedside teaching
