Department Information
In 2011, with a mission to provide comprehensive and high-quality diagnostic services for optimal patient care, the Pathology department SLMC was established in Para Medical School, Sahiwal. Classes commenced in 2013. Since then, the Pathology department has not only taken over teaching responsibilities of 3rd and 4th-year MBBS but also is efficiently offering diagnostic services.
The responsibility of the STH laboratory was taken over by the pathology department in August 2017. This led to a significant improvement and continuous enhancement of diagnostic modalities despite meager resources and limited staff. A comprehensive panel of pathology and laboratory service was provided. Blood gas, electrolytes, special chemistry analysis including endocrinological testing and metabolites was started in addition to already existing baseline biochemical, hematological, and serological tests.
